Job Description

  • San Diego Bike & Kayak Tours, Inc. is seeking store manager and bicycle repair specialist for our Coronado location The SUP & Saddle.  This staff member lead bike and kayak tours, as well as stand-up paddle board lessons. Applicants must be willing o do all tours and assist in the retail store with customer service, set up unguided bike rentals, assist with tour/rental check-in, merchandising, retail sales and general customer service.  We prefer candidates that have weekend availablity in addition to weekday available.  We are hiring for both full time and part time positions.
     
    Work outdoors in a fun, energetic environment at the Coronado Ferry Landing!
     
    Ideal Candidate: energetic, athletic, water-savvy, surfing/boating/kayak experience, stand-up paddle board experience, ocean/water safety awareness and experience, bike experience, talkative, outgoing, leadership qualities, polite, well-spoken, good driving record, athletic, able to load kayaks safely/efficiently, responsible, bike enthusiast, educated, qualifying work experience with bike repair and general bike knoledge.

Requirements

  • Bicycle repair work history or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 1 years retail management experience strongly preferred
  • Strong management skills with ability to hire, train, and develop a retail sales team
  • Ability to listen carefully and actively
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Availability for flexible scheduling
  • Train and prepare new Sales Associates and staff ensuring new hires understand their job responsibilities
  • Coach, counsel and discipline employees in order to enhance performance by providing ongoing training, supervising activities, and reviewing results
  • Ensure the company procedures and policies are being followed by performing walk through, attending meetings, and communicating best practices with Sales Associates and other Managers
  • Ensure overall sales performance improves each month with quarterly forecasts, monthly business reviews and action plans by working with the Sales Associates, including monitoring each performance metric on a daily basis
  • Build customer confidence by making the store experience interactive, engaging and reassuring
  • Maximize customer experience by uncovering needs and offering solutions
  • Maintain the visual appeal of the store
  • Develop positive customer relationships
  • Ensures customers are greeted and waited on quickly, efficiently and in a pleasant manner
  • Ensure that all merchandise is presented in a professional manner
  • Resolve customer complaints and handle merchandise returns in a pleasant and professional manner
  • Responsible for following and ensuring all safety rules are complied with and appropriate safety equipment is used
  • Provide for the safety and security of all customers and store employees
